Medicare Rebates for CBT

In Australia a new mental health initiative has recently been introduced to provide Medicare Rebates for up to 12 sessions per year with accredited Clinical Psychologists, generalist psychologists, and other allied health professionals. A particular referral is required to access the services.

New mental health items for GPs and psychiatrist were also introduced under the initiative.

Private Health Funds also provide rebates for some services, depending on the policy. You should enquire with your fund.
